It is a strange paradox that whilst the UAE and the wider region is enjoying a period of sustained growth with demand for Sales professionals outstripping supply, every job advert for Sales talent attracts a huge amount of CVs which suggests that many people are unhappy in their present positions.
Why is this? Well, it is partly financial with people happy to “job hop” every time a better paid opportunity arises; the average stay in a job in the UAE is currently less than 2 years. However, money is only ever one factor and we believe that there is a more fundamental explanation. Basically we think it has more to do with the fact that the wrong person ends up in the wrong job. Some recruitment companies see candidates as commodities on a production line and fire off CVs at clients without really understanding the needs or skills of the person. Sounds familiar? 6 months down the road either the company fires the individual or the individual leaves in frustration.
